Thank you for reading and for supporting the brands and companies I partner with, which allows me to create more content for you. As always, all opinions are my own, yo.
It was SO cute and SO much fun! My kids loved loved it and I thought it did the original TV show much justice. They didn’t try to change it, which I think was my biggest fear. That the producers would try to re- interpret the show. It’s stayed true to the much loved 50 year old classic TV Christmas special. The story, sets, characters, and songs were all familiar. Even the voices were spot on! The crowd of parents delighted when Rudolph squealed “I’m cuuuuuute!” and broke out in applause when the Prospector first bounded on stage! Because it was familiar. We were connecting to it on a memory level. And it ended with a bouncing snow flake sing a long! I just quoted myself ;-)
It’s really the perfect starter show for kids. It’s not in any way pretentious and you’re out of there in an hour and a half. The performers keep them entertained the whole time!

KING RICHARD’S FAIRE INVITES YOU TO ESCAPE REALITY
COME TO THE FAIRE
King Richard’s Faire is New England’s largest and longest-running Renaissance Faire. The 2015 season is to run September 5 through October 25, 2015 on weekends and Monday holidays.
Tucked away on 80 acres of enchanted forest off Rt. 58 in Carver, Mass., King Richard’s Faire announces its 34th season offering guests a full day of live, interactive entertainment for all ages. Guests will enjoy daring knights jousting on horseback and eight stages filled with song and dance, stunts and storytelling. Every Saturday afternoon, the King’s Stage offers themed contests and events to add variety to the festival-like entertainment lineup (see kingrichardsfaire.net for details).
There are two childrens’ special costume events- the Prince and Princess Promenade on 10/3 and the Fairies and Pirates Parade on 10/17.
Both are at 4p on the King’s Stage, first 50 to line up can parade on stage to show the audience their awesome costumes.
Seedling.com is donating the prizes and I can probably get my hands on a few to give away :-) Seedling activity kits are designed to help fuel young imaginations and open new paths to discovery. Young users are invited to use their own initiative at every stage of the activity – from the materials they’ll use to the ways they’ll play with it. Once they start, there’s no end to the possibilities.
One lucky Viola Cay reader can win four free tickets to King Richard’s Faire and a magical medieval activity kit from Seedling.com (total value around $160).
Guests can mingle with the King and his royal court, noble and not-so-noble subjects and skilled performers. When as famished as a mud beggar, enjoy the Faire’s delicious spit-roasted turkey legs, buttery ears of corn, boules filled with chowder and stew, ringlets of fries, and quench thirst with champagne, wine and brew. Shoppers can stroll through the 16th century village filled with the wares of more than 100 unique and talented artisans, including New England artists. At every turn, guests will encounter fantasy and wonder through minstrels, musicians, acrobats, stilt walkers, giant puppets, wenches, and more. Carvershire has been bustling with excitement as King Richard and Queen Anne welcome new entertainers and talented artisans to our enchanting village including:
