Back to School with Macy’s and The March of Dimes
Get some back to school shopping done and support a great cause. In August, the March of Dimes and Macy’s will launch the Shop for a Cause fundraiser.
If you don’t know about The March of Dimes, they work to prevent birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality, while also advancing maternal and health research. And Macy’s? Well we love Macy’s too, in case you missed it here and here.
Simply buy a $5 Macy’s saving pass that will provide 25% off on regular, sale & clearance items including home (only 10% off electronics, watches, furniture, mattresses, rugs/floor coverings). Macy’s will donate 100% of the $5 cost of the savings pass to the March of Dimes to help give more babies a healthy start in life.
You can buy your pass in stores from August 15-24 (good for in-store purchases only). On August 25 you can buy a $5 savings pass online at macys.com (good for online purchases only) or in-stores (good for in-store purchases only).
Shop anytime August 25 – use your passes online or in stores (depending on where you bought them)! Two stores in Massachusetts will hold Shop for a Cause on August 24 & August 25. Boston (450 Washington Street, Boston); Berkshire (170 Old State Road, Lanesboro). So you can start a little early at those two locations!
Because I love you guys, and my Nana taught me good manners, I went to Macy’s and did a little perusing for you :-) (or me, I guess. Yes, it was really for me ;-)
I have a 4 yo starting full time preschool in the fall. As it is, she changes her outfit at least 5 times a day, so I have my work cut out for me this school year. I figure if I get some pieces that can do double time it will go a long way. This is what I chose – with her approval of course. Seriously, my world is run by a 4 year old fashionista. Sigh.
Pink Coat, Pink dress, white leggings, party shoes, and of course some Hello Kitty for good measure.
And then I couldn’t resist a little sumpin’sumpin’ for myself. I’m in Season 3 of Mad Men right now, hence the whole obsession with all things 50’s & 60’s, throwback and retro, duh?! Betty was wearing something similar to this dress in the last episode I watched. Love, right?
Usually, I’m in heels every day. Flip flop, wedge, platform, even sneaker. But what girl doesn’t need a pair of Cole Haans? I am embracing my petite stature with these flats. Cute, yes?
So there you have it. My picks for the Macy’s Shop for a Cause fundraiser.
Go. Buy.
At a discount. For a Cause.
What’s better than that?
This post (as well as my sharing on social media) was inspired by my participation in a compensated program initiated by Women Online/The Mission List to raise awareness about the March of Dimes/Macy’s charitable fundraiser.

They said WHAT?
